1st week of internship

So yeap, have been going to the Old Police Academy at Thomson Road for Cisco courses for this week for the start of my internship....

Mr Sarjit Singh was a good trainer, quite strict... but still good.... and Mr Teo Chun Ping... my fellow interns at TP says he talk a lot... super boring.... but.... he actually quite nice leh... i feel....

anyway, stupid internship comes with a stupid logbook. must write weekly summary of tasks and reflection and get supervisor to sign.... what the hell lah sighs.

Too bad i didnt manage to catch the Champions League matches between Paris St Germain vs Barcelona, which ended 2-2, Messi scoring first, then followed by an equaliser by Ibrahimovic, Xavi restored Barca's lead through a penalty before Blaise Matuidi equalised in the dying seconds. Bayern also beat Juventus 2-0 through David Alaba long range strike in 35 seconds and Thomas Muller at 63 mins. Buffon was at fault for both goals, which later Bayern legend Franz Beckenbauer criticised Buffon for looking like a pensioner in the match. Harsh. Anyway, Toni Kroos was injured in the 16th minute, he was doing a good job against Andrea Pirlo, who was anonymous in the match. For PSG vs Barca, David Beckham covered 6km during the match, more than any other player, and hes 37 years old! Respect!

Next day, did catch Champions League Action. It was Malaga vs Borussia Dortmund. Marco Reus, Mario Gotze, Robert Lewandowski all disappointed for us, as the match ended 0-0. Their goalkeeper Willy Caballero made several good saves from us though. In the other match, Real Madrid beat Galatasary 3-0, where Jose squared off against his former players Drogba and Sneijder and Hamit Altintop, through Cristiano 9', Benzema 29' and Higuain 73'.

Well, had a test this week. and i got 96/100... lol... so close to full marks.....

And now, need to practise some scripts for the Oral assessment....

And also... today Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund faced Augsburg. We named a much changed side to rest players for the return leg against Malaga. This was our lineup: Mitchell Langerak, Marcel Schemlzer, Neven Subotic, Felipe Santana, Kiven Grosskreutz (yes, Grosskreutz playing rightback today), Nuri Sahin, Sven Bender, Leonardo Bittencourt, Mortiz Leitner, Jonas Hoffmann, Julian Schieber.

We took the lead through Julian Schieber  in the 22' minute. But some defensive mistakes by BVB let Augsburg score 2 goals in 30 seconds to take a 2-1 lead just before the half time, and we booed the team off the pitch.  in the 2nd half, Jurgen Klopp sent on Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gotze for Moritz Leitner and Leonardo Bittencourt. This works out pretty well as less than 1 minute later, an assist by Lewandowski saw Julian Schieber getting his brace and equaliser in the 52th minute. We took the lead through neven Subotic in the 64th minute, and with just 19 seconds to go before the match ended, Robert Lewandowski scored to continue his record for scoring in 10 consecutive Bundesliga games.

And no surprises, Bayern wrapped up the title with a 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt through Bastian Schweinsteiger backheel in the 52th minute. David Alaba missed a penalty early in the game. Whatever it is,. I congratulate Bayern, they were too strong for us this season. And now, its time for German teams to refocus on our Champions League return legs!!!

Anyways, also saw pictures on troll football of Mirko Vucinic celebrating one of his 2 goals (dunno which) against Pescara by taking his shorts off. haha, smart guy, since referees cant give a yellow card for that, only can give to ppl taking off shirts (stupid rule anyway). well, i bet FIFA gonna take action and write a new rule?

Ok whatever it is.. gotta sleep soon... gotta play football tomorrow.

Beyond 20 years old....

Alright... lots of things have happened over this past week where I have not returned for blogging....

Starting from 21 March 2013, my 20th birthday.

I only went to sleep like 2am in the morning, but couldnt get any sleep. I woke up at 8am.... and played a bit on my computer... before going out to Mountbatten Road opposite SOTA to meet with a long lost tuition friend Mr Teo Yi Teng. He picked me up there in his BMW (WOAH!) and we went to Central, where he brought me to Santouka Ramen for lunch where I mentioned to him the day before I was craving ramen. He treated me to the meal and after that had a long chat at Clarke Quay to catch up since the last time I saw him was 3 years ago, to watch Avatar! Really thanks, Yi Teng, I will forever remember and appreciate this!! Dont run away... because it will be my turn to celebrate your 21st birthday on 21 January! Hey you are exactly 2 months older than me! hahaha.

And then, Yi Teng had to go to the West to pick up his girlfriend... so I went to Katong I12, where my classmate Sarayutt Koh also treated me to coffee at this cafe called Baci. I asked him for stronger coffee since I was really tired, and he did so. He also gave me some key chains as presents. Thanks for the thought Sara!

After that, went home for a while, before going to Simpang for dinner with Wen Pin, Jin Yong, Ibrahimovic, Darwin and Erwin, whom's birthday we were also celebrating. The dinner was horrible though I did not mention to any of my friends that I disliked the food. There, they gave me a present, which was a jacket and a pair of track pants. Thanks guys. After that, ibrahimovic had to leave bcos he was packing up for some cruise trip to dont know where. So the rest of us went to Vie Bar to have some beer, where we were joined by the little boy aka Javier Goh. So thanks too, little boy, for actually bothering to come down after your whatever late meeting at school. haha.

So after that 3 outings in 1 day, the most I ever had, and the first ever time to go out on my birthday, I went home to watch Khazakstan vs Germany for World Cup Qualifiers. Germany took control of the game quickly, with 2 goals in 2 minutes. The first of them came in the 20 minute, from Bastian Schweinsteiger (although others might say it was Thomas Muller who deflected the ball in) and our very own Borussia's Gotze who doubled our advantage in the 22 minute. After that, it was quite a boring game and even saw Khazakstan threatening until the 74th minute where Thomas Muller popped up to seal the 3 points for Germany.

Nothing significant for the next few days though, me playing Football Manager 2011 at home, going work on Saturdays.... and then the return leg for Germany vs Khazakstan, at the Stadion Nuremberg.
I was extremely delighted with Marco Reus, Mario Gotze and Ilkay Gundogan, our very own BVB players, who weighed in goals in the 23 minute, 27th minute and the 32nd minute respectively as Germany controlled the game for the first half, with it ending 3-0 to us. However, Khazakstan seemed rejuvenated for the second half, and the stupid Manuel Neuer decided to dribble the ball past 2 defenders after also a rather poor backpass from Per Mertesacker resulted in Schmidtgal, who plays for Greuther Furth, to make it 3-1. Throughout the game, Germany kept hitting the woodwork, like maybe 800 times in the match, with the Khazakstan goalkeeper A. Sidlenikov displaying great heroics for Khazakstan by keeping Germany to the 3 goals.... until Marco Reus popped up with a 90th minute goal to make it 4-1.

That sums up the international break for us.

And then the next morning, went to school at 12pm for a briefing regarding our internship, where we had a  face to face meeting with our supervisor Mr Priveen. I was very disappointed, though, during the meeting, where we only then found out we had to go for this up your service course, when no one ever mentioned to us before we had to go! Now, more on that next time.

Nothing else for the next day, which was Thursday. Then it was Good Friday. While the Christians mourn the death of Jesus Christ, we non-Christians played football at St Wilfred Sports Complex with my fellow Marists. I was contented with my performance that day.

Then Saturday comes, where Borussia Dortmund played VFB Stuttgart at the Mercedes Benz Arena. Hope Marcel Schmelzer can recover soon, after a high boot by Martin Harnik took out his nose, where he had to be taken off and he was replaced by Lukasz Piszczek, where he was originally rested. A free kick by Marco Reus soon after in the 23rd minute saw Piszczek though coming in to head the ball home. 1-0! Stuttgart tried to kick our players off the pitch throughout till the end of the first half. At the 2nd half, they came back battling and found a goal back through Alexandru Maxim in the 63th minute. However, a red card to GeorgNiedermeier in the 69th minute gave us a chance to win the game, where Robert Lewandowski fired in his 20th goal of the season in the 82nd minute, thus extending his club record too of scoring in consecutive Bundesliga games, and we delayed the Bayern title party by a week.

Woke up today though, to get ready for our company auction, and later I found out from my cousin that Bayern had thrashed Hamburg SV 9-2.... Claudio Pizarro scored 4 goals, with Robben having 2 and Shaqiri, Schweinsteiger and Ribery being the other scorers. Jeffrey Bruma and Heiko Westermann scoring for Hamburg....

So after auction, went home to rest for a while, before meeting up with Wen Pin for a catch up at I12 Katong.

And now, internship will start soon, for me, tomorrow. And I havent found out how to get to my reporting place tomorrow yet... die....
